PEACE with Penny: Penny S. Tee interviews Eran Avidor an Israeli settler and Peace activist. He lives in Kibbutz Naaran in the Jordan valley. Eran works with Roots-Shorashim-Judur, a Peace organization that started in the West Bank in the Gush Etzion area and has expanded, establishing a branch in the Jordan Valley four years ago.

Roots, Jordan Valley has two Peace groups, the first with adults from the Bedouin villages and the Israeli settlements. I don’t know how familiar you are with modern-day Bedouins, but we learned so much from Eran about the Bedouin culture and the interactions between the local Bedouins, Palestinians and Israelis. Don’t you wonder how they work together on Peace? We also explored what life on a kibbutz was like. Sadly, we learned that Israel, like most countries, has some inner city issues that need to be resolved.

The second group is new and is working on Peace between the Palestinian young adults of the city of Jericho and the Israeli settlements nearby. We hope you enjoy listening and we’d love for you to leave us a comment.

May You Live in Peace, שלום and سلام,
