PEACE with Penny SEASON 4: Penny S. Tee Interviews Natalie Sopinsky of Rescuers Without Borders, November 1, 2022

In November 1st’s episode of PEACE with Penny we spoke with an organization called Rescuers without Borders, in short, they save lives. They are often first on the scene of all types of medical emergencies including the unfortunate terrorist attacks that occur consistently throughout Israel.

They are also a Peace organization, working with both Israelis and Palestinians, through teaching medical skills and administering medical aid to victims, yet they often have to keep their efforts quiet from the communities they both help and train. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict gets complicated even when trying to save lives. Oy.

They serve and educate both Israeli and Palestinian volunteers to provide the life-saving techniques arriving first on the scene while accident victims await transportation to hospitals that can be more than an hour away.

Rescuers Without Borders also helps countries throughout the world wherever there is an emergency due to their extensive experience under these circumstances. They’ve helped at disasters in: Sri Lanka, Ethiopia, Philippines, Thailand, Jordan, Guam, Guadalupe, Mali, Miami, Burma and most recently, the Ukraine.

Natalie Sopinsky, is Rescuers Without Borders’, Director of Development and she describes herself as a pistol-wearing hitch-hiking settler living in the Hebron Hills of Israel. A lawyer, lifeguard, and Zumba instructor, the mother of five children, and wife to Philadelphian-born and raised Jordan. Natalie represents the 150 communities in Judea and Samaria for Rescuers Without Borders, the main US charity for emergency medical needs in the Jewish heartland. Whether a terrorist attack or accident, Rescuers Without Borders volunteers save lives every day.

We hope you will enjoy listening. In Israel saving lives not only challenges the responders to help the victims, but sometimes risks the lives of those trying to save lives. Listen to the surprising encounters the volunteers face to save others.

You can always see the recordings on our PEACE with Penny Youtube channel or at our website at www.PennySTee.com under podcasts.

Thank you and May You Live in Peace, שלום and سلام.
