We’re excited to continue with our Season 2 live interviews of PEACE with Penny. We just celebrated the International Day of Nonviolence and we hope you were able to take a few minutes to contemplate what that means, and how your personal surroundings reflect those sentiments, or doesn’t. May We All Live surrounded by Peace, שלום and سلام.
Elizabeth Arif-Fear ‘s life is a role model for change. She reminds us of the importance of not assuming something is accurate just because it’s been repeated often. The Israeli-Palestinian conflict is very complex and has many players with their own agendas. It requires not just accepting what people say without looking further as to why they might be saying it. We must keep on our toes and remember how breaking down the word assume is essential because it can sometimes make an ass-out-of-u-and-me. In 2015, Elizabeth founded the Voice of Salam or what means the Voice of Peace. The Voice of Salam envisions a world where every human being is treated with equal dignity with full respect of their human rights, regardless of their gender-identity, sexuality, ethnic background, nationality or religious affiliation. Voice of Salam’s mission is to break down barriers between people from diverse faith and cultural communities and promote the protection of human rights worldwide. They aim to raise awareness of, campaign, and advocate for a wide range of socio-cultural, human rights, intercultural and interfaith issues.
We hope you will enjoy listening and let us know what you think. Please share.
