PEACE with Penny: Penny S. Tee interviewed Professor Mohammed S. Dajani Daoudi. Professor Dajani is a freedom fighter turned Peace activist. Accused of normalization, Palestinians set his car on fire.
He is a Jerusalem-born Palestinian who went from being a student activist and a member of Fatah fighting for Palestinian liberation during the 1960s to being a Peace activist.
From 2001-2014 he worked at Al-Quds University. He gained notoriety when in 2014 Professor Dajani took 27 of his students to Auschwitz. When his trip was written about in the newspaper and mistranslated into Arabic, he was vilified as a traitor and collaborator by Palestinians. In 2015, extremists in his Palestinian community objected to his change of heart resulting in them setting his car ablaze for trying to understand his fellow humans—who happen to be Jewish Israelis…
He founded the Wasatia movement of Moderate Islam, an organization that spreads the message of understanding, tolerance, coexistence and brotherhood.
May You Live in Peace, שלום and سلام.
