How will this story end? We do not know. We just can hope and pray. How a 26-year-old Jewish American lawyer named Avi Meyerstein, had a dream and gathered together groups to form the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP). Today, it’s a collaboration of nearly 160 Israeli and Palestinian Peace organizations, hoping that someday, both peoples who share the historic and religious right to live in the land of Israel-Palestine, live together in Peace. Amen.

One state, two-state, Arab-Palestinian-Bedouin-48 Refugee, Muslim, Christian, Druze, Secular (no intended offense, but do we say these folks exist or not?)—Israeli-Jewish (Hasidic, Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, Secular), Sephardi, Ashkenazi, Right-of-Return immigrant—Dr. Seuss had it easier, but it’s not the point, in this part of the world it’s always complicated. The issue still is, can these people with so many who feel they are different from one another, ultimately see that they are human, with the same desires—to live in this beloved land free from harm?

We’ll see what happens, but this is just what probably will be the middle of the book. Avi and his friends have been working hard since 2003, but there’s still so far to go.
