Penny S. Tee interviewed Elizabeth Arif-Fear of the Voice of Salam (Voice of Peace) the first time, two years ago. We had scheduled this update before the Israel-Hamas War broke out, and when it did, we looked forward to hearing what Liz, as a Muslim woman, thought about what had occurred, and what her community was telling her.
Elizabeth Arif-Fear is an award-winning activist who founded Voice of Salam, in 2015 to raise awareness of a range of global issues and advocate for the promotion, protection and understanding of human rights, interfaith, social, and cultural issues. She is also involved with various interfaith and Peacebuilding organizations and has several years previous experience volunteering on interfaith and social action projects at a UK-based synagogue.
They are based in Great Britain.
Voice of Salam’s vision is of a world where every human being is treated with equal dignity with full respect to their human rights, regardless of their gender identity, sexuality, ethnic background, nationality, or religious affiliation.
Their mission is to break down barriers between people from diverse faith and cultural communities and promote the protection of human rights worldwide.
